How about a picture from the ShadowFist "Two Fisted Tales" edition? Coincidentally, this set, like the most recent game I worked on from Fantasy Flight (Call of Cthulhu), is set in the Pulp era. This is an old-time science-fiction mad scientist with a twist... and his x-ray specs are right out of the old comic book advertisements. I'm pretty sure the ones in the comics didn't work quite this well, though...
